[Kirie-andon lantern] Osake no Akimoto (Japanese liquor store)
Address | 2-108 Nagareyama, Nagareyama, Chiba |
---|
Artwork explanation
Our store is the historical site of the Shinsengumi commander Kondō Isami's encampment, which is one of Nagareyama's spots that attract tourists. Though the encampment's building no longer stands there, our kirie-andon features our traditional storehouse that bears the stone monument to the encampment.
Artwork explanation
Osake no Akimoto's traditional Japanese warehouse is located on the historical site of the encampment of the Shinsengumi, the special police force organized by the military government in 1863 and led by Kondō Isami. The warehouse is now a symbol of that history, and is featured in the artwork of the store's kirie-andon lantern. Shiro-mirin was invented 200 years ago, and the rivalry between the two large brands - Manjō Mirin and Appare Mirin - were a large factor in Nagareyama's prosperity. Osake no Akimoto offers not only locally-brewed sake, but sets of specially-selected Nagareyama mirin, goods related to the Shinsengumi, and other local products that can't be found anywhere else.
